SEPTEMBER 2O21

Every Thursday (until December): Crafting Communities sessions from 10am-noon, with artist-in-residence Jennifer Collier. A free crafts session using primarily paper and card. For more details about this project, click here.

All September & October: Staffordshire History Festival across the whole county, and online

OCTOBER

All October: Staffordshire Libraries will be runnign a number of events, many online, for Black History Month. The programme begins on 1st October with a radio drama, ‘The History of Mary Prince’, the story of the first black woman to publish an account of her life in Britain.

October 2nd: Blythe Colour-Works Memories session at Blythe Centre. (A second one takes place on October 16th at Cheadle library). The event is a forerunner of an exhibition in April 2022 at Blythe.

OUR ‘REGULARS’: EVENTS, CLASSES, COMMUNITY CLUBS & SESSIONS

For all these sessions, you must book ahead. The best way to do that is through our ‘TryBooking’ webpage. Please note: ‘Closed’ means the event has passed or that it is not yet open for booking. You cannot book more than two weeks in advance.

*Monday mornings :  ‘Bright Babies’ (birth to 18-months, 11.15am-12.15pm) and ‘Twinkle-Tots’ (12-months to 3 years, 9.15am-10.45am) – toys and games for babies & toddlers with qualified assistant – £1.50 for one/two children (includes snacks), 50p per extra child.  This is a private session; the centre is closed to the public otherwise. Protocol means that attendance must be booked in advance. This can be done through our new 24/7 online booking system, or in person at the centre’s reception desk (cash only). Whichever, you must book at least 24 hours ahead, please.

*Thursdays 1pm-3pm: Quilters & Knitters & Needle-Work Group – FREE. For knitters, crochet or needleworkers, of all abilities. This is a private session; the centre is closed to the public otherwise; beginners are welcome. Protocol means that attendance must be booked in advance. This can be done through our new 24/7 online booking system, or in person at the centre’s reception desk (cash only). Whichever, you must book at least 24 hours ahead, please.

Sundays 11am-3pm :  ‘Textiles Arts & Crafts Group’ (£4) for budding fabric artists. These workshops are as much about community as about acquiring a craft. This is a private session; the centre is closed to the public otherwise; beginners are welcome. Protocol means that attendance must be booked in advance. This can be done through our new 24/7 online booking system, or in person at the centre’s reception desk (cash only). Whichever, you must book at least 24 hours ahead, please.

    At present the centre is taking details of anyone interested in the Sewing Club, please call 01782 296400 to leave your details, you will receive a call as soon as times and dates have been confirmed.

        Our quilting ladies welcome sewers, knitters and all needle craft enthusiasts. Pop in and feel free to join in with your sewing.
